About Amar Flow Laboratory
At Amar we pride ourselves in being a family-operated, process-equipment company, now led by our 2nd Generation. We started out in 1974 as a manufacturer of high-pressure reactors (autoclaves) in Mumbai, India. Throughout our history, our Management and ownership has always been held by engineers with expertise in design and manufacturing. Over the past 50 years we became the industry leader for batch as well as continuous reactors in India for the most challenging conditions e.g. Pressures of 700 bar and Temperatures up to 1000 °C. Today, almost every chemical company in India has Amar equipment in its R&D facilities and the “Amar” brand name is synonymous of the trust and quality demanded for safety-critical high-pressure autoclaves. After our success in the Indian markets Amar ventured into international markets offering skid-mount, modular pilot plant units to complement our pressure and flow reactors.
Our equipment scale ranges from lab to pilot scale, sizes as small as 1 mL to large 1,000 L reactors and we can work with an extensive range of MOCs including Hastelloy, Monel, Zirconium, Titanium and many others including coatings and clad sheets. End-customers span sectors such as Chemicals, Pharma and Oil & Gas industries but also Universities and national labs. Amar offers a full portfolio of services from concept to scale up and production systems. We are proud of a robust R&D team which has been coming up with innovative reactor designs especially in the flow reactor domain. Amar is unique in offering state-of-the-art, in-house wet-lab facilities (including fume hoods and GC / HPLC analytical capabilities) for scale up and demos of customer chemistries as FTE projects on our site.
Our reactors and skids comply with international regulations such as ASME-U Stamp, CE, EU-PED, ATEX and many others. We have the ability to add process control and monitoring options via PLCs / DCS or tie-ins with customer proprietary systems such as Modbus, Profibus and others. Our automated fabrication shop uses CNC and advanced machining technologies for close tolerances and is supported by a diligent QC team working to ISO-9001 standard. We pride on our quality and have expertise with a variety of NDT techniques and welder qualification for the most demanding and critical projects. Our team is supported by a global marketing and service network which also offers a variety of accessories such as Swagelok-equivalent parts and Magnetic Drives. A recent addition to the Amar portfolio is a range of Heating Cooling Circulators and Thermostats.

Infrastructure and Manufacturing Equipment
Amar prides itself on its modern fabrication facilities in Mumbai India. This is an amazing new facility constructed in March 2021, is a state-of-the-art 50,000 sq. ft. (4645 sq. m for our friends from metric nations!) mechanical fabrication facility. We have overhead cranes capable of handling project fabrication up to 3 tons. The tool shop is a mix of old school hand operated machine tools and the most modern CNC machines. We pride ourselves on some of our machinists who have spent more than 30 years with us. The CNC machines include the best of Indian and international models. The world of high pressure equipment demands close tolerances and accuracy of the highest order. We use advanced NDT (Non-destructive testing) equipment (e.g. dye penetrants, radiography, verniers, laser gauges) for weld assurance. Our shop has a variety of welding techniques including TIG / MIG / Laser and argon shielded and our welders are externally certified to appropriate qualifications. Increasingly surface finish is important, we have equipment for sand blasting and electropolishing and other surface preparation techniques. Amar leverages fabrication capabilities by utilizing a set of carefully audited external partners. For many of our projects FATs (Factory Acceptance Trials) are crucial and we have an extensive set of pressure testing hydraulic pumps and guarded areas to Hydrotest to the highest pressures we handle. We also have added in-house 3D Printing for rapid prototyping and have access to machines for metallic sintered powder 3D printing of our microreactors. Since we handle a wide range of exotic materials PMI (Positive Material Identification) equipment (spectroscopic) is available on site.
